HEMŞİRELİK ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN MESLEKİ DERNEKLER HAKKINDAKİ FARKINDALIKLARININ BELİRLENMESİ

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to determine their awareness of nursing students about professional organizations.

Method: This descriptive study involved 387 students who were studying in the nursing department of Faculty of Health Sciences, in academic year of 2012-2013 and accepted to participate in research. In this study, the population which was not created without using the sampling method formed the sample group, as well. A questionnaire was used by the researchers during data collection process. Data were assessed by using number, percentage and chi-square test.

Results: It was determined that the average age of the students who participated in the study was 21.10 ± 2.20, the majority of them (72.6%) were female students and 85.8% did not work in any job. It was found that half of the students (56.1%) have knowledge about associations related to nursing, but a great majority (86.5%) did not know the duties, powers and responsibilities of associations, 79.6% requested to get information about the subject. It was determined that very small part of students were health vocational high school graduates (n = 8), and all these students were members of the Turkish Nurses Association after they started the task, students' gender and employment status did not affect the awareness of the professional associations (p> 0.05).

Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that nursing students were not knowledgeable enough about professional organizations and their duties, powers and responsibilities, and the majority of them wanted to get information about it.

Amaç: Çalışma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin mesleki örgütler hakkındaki farkındalıklarını belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı.

Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı nitelikteki çalışmaya 2012-2013 eğitim öğretim döneminde Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim gören, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 387 öğrenci alındı. Çalışmada örneklem yöntemine gidilmemiş evren aynı zamanda örneklemi oluşturmuştur. Veri toplamada araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan anket formu kullanıldı. Veriler sayı, yüzdelik hesaplama ve Ki-kare testi ile değerlendirildi.

Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalamasının 21.10±2.20 olduğu, büyük çoğunluğunu (%72.6) kız öğrencilerin oluşturduğu, %85.8’inin herhangi bir işte çalışmadığı belirlendi. Öğrencilerin yarısının (%56.1) hemşirelikle ilgili dernekler hakkında bilgi sahibi olduğu, ancak büyük çoğunluğunun (%86.5) derneklerin görev, yetki ve sorumluluklarını bilmediği, %79.6’sının bu konuda bilgi almak istedikleri saptandı. Öğrencilerden çok az bölümünün sağlık meslek lisesi mezunu olduğu (n:8), ve bu öğrencilerin tümünün göreve başladıktan sonra Türk Hemşireler Derneğine üye olduğu, öğrencilerin cinsiyeti ve çalışma durumunun mesleki derneklere yönelik farkındalık durumlarını etkilemediği belirlendi (p>0.05).

Sonuç: Çalışmada hemşirelik öğrencilerinin mesleki örgütler ve onların görev yetki ve sorumlulukları hakkında yeterince bilgili olmadığı ve büyük çoğunluğunun bu konuda bilgi almak istedikleri belirlendi.
